STAND UP 2011
STAND UP 2011 has been created to educate, motivate and empower young people to stand up to bullying and bullies and to help create a culture of non-tolerance for this behavior. Stand Up 2011 empowers youth to actively promote positive social change in their schools and communities.
Who Should Attend?
All youth in grades 6-12 are invited to attend STAND UP 2011 as a member of a school or organization. Schools may send up to 60 people (one adult/teacher for every 5 youth is recommended). Teams should reflect diversity in gender, ethnicity, race, religion, interest, etc.
Registration Process:
Step 1
Reserve Your Space
Click here to reserve space for your school to attend STAND UP 2011. This will only hold space. You will need to download the registration packet here and complete the Team Registration form and Participant Permission forms for each attendee (including teachers/chaperones). Step 2
Team Registration Form
Complete the enclosed Team Registration Form. This form must include the names of all students and adults attending from your school/organization. Once completed, Fax the form to (617) 570-9159 or mail to The Rendon Group (240 Commercial Street, Suite 2B, Boston, MA 02109) or email to Kari@standup2011.org. Forms must be received by Friday, November 18, 2011.
Step 3
Participant Permission Form
Please copy and distribute a Participant Permission Form to each participant (students and adults). All three signatures are required for students to attend. Please Note: adults are also required to complete forms. Forms for all team members should be in one package and mailed to The Rendon Group or emailed to kari@standup2011.org. Forms must be received by Friday, November 18, 2011.
Step 4
Event Tickets Are Mailed
Once we receive your Team Registration Form and all Participant Permission forms, event tickets will be mailed to you along with additional event information, including directions and bus/van information. Tickets will be assigned as registration packets are received. The earlier you register and send in your materials, the better your team’s seats will be.
Step 5
When You Arrive At the Event
Registration 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
One staff/faculty representative from your school/organization should check-in while all other team members proceed to their seats. See information sheet mailed with tickets for more information.
General Information
Tickets:
Admittance to STAND UP 2011 is by ticket only. Tickets will be mailed to you as soon as all registration materials are received. Anyone planning to attend must register. Youth must attend the event as part of a school or organization’s team. Tickets are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis.
Cost:
The event is FREE of charge.
Food:
Students are encouraged to bring their own lunch.
Dress:
Participants should dress as they would to attend school.

Transportation & Parking:
Participants must provide their own transportation. Due to limited parking, participants from the Greater Boston area are strongly urged to use the MBTA. Matthews Arena is located on the MBTA’s Green Line “E” car at the Symphony stop.
Individual passenger cars are discouraged. Parking is NOT provided.
Buses and vans must be registered on your Team Registration Form! Due to specific regulations in the City of Boston and limited bus parking, this information must be provided in advance or we will be unable to accommodate your bus/van. Once registered, you will received specific instructions for your bus or van driver. If you have school bus parking questions, please call (617) 912-3868.
